Term Two (and Semester 1) has come to an end. It has been an incredibly busy term - Peer Support, Cross country, many sporting events involving a large number of students in our class, ICAS competitions, Maths Olympiad, Australian Identity, Starry Starry Night Showcase, Performing Arts Festival - the list goes on. All the while 6W have been learning and striving to reach each of their learning goals! Well done everyone! I hope you enjoy your well-earned break!

Our Australian Identity ' Australia Through The Decades' was a fantastic success and everyone deserves congratulations for their in-depth research and outstandingly well presented work on Thursday. We had a terrific roll-up of parents who were very impressed by the way we were able to create an interactive, living timeline of Australian History.

The day finished with a display of some fantastic BUSHDANCING! Check out the movie below and watch us doing the 'Heel and Toe Polka' and 'The Waves of Bondi' to name just two.

A great morning was had by all as we ran up and down the hills of Mahers Lane competing in the Cross Country! Take a look at the photos and video of our great athletes!

Peer Support Training Day

Yesterday was our Peer Support Training Day at Sunshine Avenue. We worked in groups and learnt about some of the challenges that we will be faced with as a Peer Support Leader  as well as the skills needed to be an effective group leader.

We also had a lot of fun playing problem solving games...

Gallipoli

Dear Parents,

This week Year 6 have been talking about the significance of ANZAC Day. We have also begun our Term 2 investigation into Australian Identity. We plan on watching the important Australian movie ‘Gallipoli’. Due to the content of the movie, your permission for your son/daughter to view the movie is required. All content and themes will be dealt with sensitively throughout our viewing of the movie,  

This is not a compulsory activity for the students and they may choose not to watch the film. 

If your child does have your permission to view the movie, please indicate this on a brief note, on paper or via email.
