We are becoming very adept at mind mapping to enhance their learning. Mind maps have been described as 'Swiss Army knives for the brain'. They allow students to accelerate their learning band thinking skills.
In 6W, we use mind mapping to:
- Give an overview of a subject area
- demonstrate our learning
- assist with problem solving
- enhance our learning efficiency
Take a look at some of these fantastic examples!

It was a fantastic first week back! Lots on - as usual! We welcomed our new classmate, Oscar, on Monday. On Tuesday we begin our inquiry into Simple Machines AND ran our first Peer Support session of the term. We also began immersing ourselves in all things GOLD related - another of our major inquiries this term. Our ATHLETICS CARNIVAL was held on Wednesday, a beautiful sunny, but chilly day. Congratulations everyone on your enthusiastic participation and fantastic performances - no doubt many of you will be representing our school at the next carnival! On Thursday we heard all about what will no doubt be a highlight of the year - our trip to Melbourne on August 26th. Information and permission notes were sent home - please bring the completed forms back as soon as possible everyone!
Our week finished with an active afternoon of Sport. A few 'games' on bottom oval - "Drop and give me 2!" - and our first session of DANCE FEVER!! We began learning our first hip hop dance and our first tentative steps of the Cha-Cha!! A great start to the term!!
